"The battle between RSS and Atom has divided the blogging world since the summer..."
These are the words of Paul Festa, who I sometimes think of as the technology-specific version of Rita Skeeter. What battle, exactly? Although the two formats share similarities, I see them as being for different target audiences.
One thing is certain though. Atom will include everything that has made RSS so successful. If it becomes a major player, I will imagine there will no longer be a need for RSS.
I shall continue to supply feeds of both, since it is all automated and it costs me nothing to do so. I can see switching off my RSS feed in the future, but not my Atom feed.
