A treadmill

My wife and I had been mulling it over for a long time, and yesterday we agreed it was the right thing to do. We have bought ourselves a treadmill. For the record, it is a Landice L8 Pro Sports treadmill, and it costs a bloody fortune.

The primary reason for this lavish expenditure is my urgent need to get fit. After years of sitting on my backside, it is time for me to get the heart pumping and lose a couple of hundred pounds. My wife claims she needs to lose weight too, but she looks fabulous.

At the same time, I will have to modify what I eat. No longer can I survive on my usual diet of cheeseburgers, Cadbury's Creme Eggs, and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. Sigh.

I quit smoking two months ago and have been lifting weights and will be starting running when the weather gets better out. I'm still modifying my eating habits.

Let me tell you...a treadmill can be a really good thing, especially for getting the heart pumping when it's pouring rain or snowing out. My mother in law recently got rid of hers though because it sped up for some reason and she hurt her arm trying not to be thrown through the wall!

    And Krispy Kreme...mmmmmm....doughnuts...
