Former President of the United States Ronald Reagan has died, at the ripe old age of 93. He became President in 1981, when I was just 10 years old, and he was probably the first President to make some kind of an impression on me (I was too young to be anything other than dimly aware of Jimmy Carter). His relationship with British Prime Minsister Margaret Thatcher helped the Anglo-US friendship mature into what we have today.
Events since the end of his Presidency in 1989, however, have more or less convinced me that it will be better to vote Democrat in the future, even though I would describe myself as right-of-center.
