Missing Matt

Posted Jun 18, 2004 in Blogging.

Matthew Mullenweg once said that he would take his website down if Google ever ranked his site as number one in searches for Matt. Well as of today, Google has done just that, and Matt has responded by pulling the plug.

It is inconceivable that the man most responsible for the blogging tool of the moment would not actually have a blog of his own, so I expect Matt to return in some form or another soon. Of course, this makes for a wonderful publicity stunt - how many bloggers out there will be posting a message just like this, linking to Photo Matt, Ping-o-Matic, and WordPress? Expect higher traffic than usual, Matt!

By the way, I'm currently the 53rd Simon, on page 6 of the results. I'd be happy just to get to page one, let alone number one!

I'm actually expecting the site to be back to normal tomorrow. But we'll see :)

What's his problem exactly? It seems that he took the obvious path to SE success and made it, as you might expect?

    3, 2, 1... and he is back! :-)
