I took a screenshot of the BBC News Online's technology page at 19:25 GMT today. As you can see, Firefox 1.0 is getting some good publicity from Auntie Beeb at the moment.

Good you're doing your bit. The spread firefox button etc.
But you need to do more!
Repeat after me:
I solemnly swear that from this point on I'll download, install and make Firefox the default browser on any public terminal I come across. Should I find anyone using IE at a cyber cafe, etc I'll make fun of them in public and call them things like 'n00b'.

If possible I'll try and mess up IE so it becomes unusable.

I have no objection to people using Internet Explorer. People are free to exercise their constitutional right to be dumbasses, just like they did when they gave Bush another 4 years.

I've shown Firefox to a few non-computer savvy friends and they loved it. They love the fact that they do not get pop-ups and that they can have all of their favorite sites open using tabs.

I just built 'her indoors' a new computer and she demanded that when I set it up I should hide away IE so that she would have to use Firefox! She still has it just in case a site she wants to see desperately only works in IE (They do still exist) but she has to go through a bunch of menus to get at it. Three days ago she had never used it but is liking it more and more.
