Compact Disc cover

I've long been a fan of the Lightning Seeds, ever since I heard “The Life Of Riley” playing in the background of BBC Sport's Goal of the Month segment, many years ago. “Tilt” has been around since 1999, but I only discovered is last week. There are many great songs, but “If Only” is a real stand-out. As usual, the music can only be described as a happy brand of perfect pop, dominated by the talent of Ian Broudie. Superb, layered production values and mature, interesting lyrics make this disc a classic.

Good news, now I have yet another band to listen to. I recently have tuned my radio to a local station here in New York, funded by private donation, which seems to play old classics and underground music. If only I had XM Radio, then I'd be snagging several great songs for my perusal.

Someone needs to start a radio blog with podcast-enabled posting (nothing more than linking to an .mp3) with several posters, etc. I think it would be a great idea. Sure, I've seen some blogs scattered across the web but something more close to home would be nice.

This "podcasting" malarkey is really catching on, isn't it? I don't have any kind of MP3 player, so it has sort of passed me by. I have ripped my entire CD collection onto my hard drive (47 gigabytes), and I simply use Media Player as a continuously-running jukebox. I can even pipe it around my house if I want to.
