I was one of the first in my family to get vaccinated for influenza. Being a fat bugger, I claimed that I qualified as an at risk patient. My wife and stepchildren got their vaccines soon after.
Several months later, my stepdaughter is recovering from it. She passed it on to my wife, who is suffering very badly, and now I have it too. It is possible that my stepson suffered from a mild version of it last week. I guess the WHO got it wrong this time around. Do I qualify for a refund, do you suppose?
Anyway, this is particularly inconvenient for me. I am supposed to be teaching tomorrow, and I'm not sure how I'm going to fare in a five-hour class. On Friday, I'm supposed to drive to Newark to pick up my brother. He's spending a few days with us before flying back to England. So the timing is awful.
