Decorations up

Posted Dec 01, 2006 in Events, si-blog.

Since we are now into December, I feel it is okay for me to put my Christmas decorations up. Those of you with modern browsers (Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer 7.x, et al) will see my Christmassy si-blog logo. If you are using IE6, or some other old piece of junk, you're out of luck.

I am one of those outta luck. I never like to get anything right when it comes out, like IE7. I like to wait 'till some of the bugs are found before using a new type of software. Even still, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

    Hey, Alice.

IE7 is going to be one of the Microsoft Windows automatic updates, so you'll get it sooner or later anyway. I'd still recommend Firefox, however.

Celebrating the festive season has gone from exasperatingly premature to joyously de rigueur in the space of 2 days!

    I like it though.

Well absolutely. I totally embrace Christmas once we get into December. It's a delightful time of excess and indulgence for me. Anyway, the subtle changes to the banner of my site took all of 10 minutes to do. The Christmas si-blog logo has appeared for the last couple of years, and I whipped-up the changes to the header background with a few minutes of Photoshoppery. I'm not artist, but I'm reasonably satisfied with the understated result.

Other sites have been less subtle. Falling JavaScript snow, Santa sleigh mouse trails, and awful things like this:

I dub that Christmas tree "ULTRA SEIZURE XMAS TREE!"
