Home for sale

Image of my home in the Summer of 2007

I've been living in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania since 2001. It really is a beautiful, village-like town about 15 minutes from Philadelphia. Since 2004, my wife and I have been putting in a tremendous effort to update and upgrade our home with new plumbing, new electrics, a new kitchen and family room, a new sun room, an enormous wraparound deck and a fancy new front porch. With new siding and extensive landscaping our house looks as superb on the outside as it does on the inside.

But now it is time for us to move on, and we are looking for a smaller house much closer to where my wife works. We are very sad about having to leave our home, especially now that it is in such good condition, but we are also a little excited about picking out a new place and making it our own.

Swarthmore is a great place to live because it is part of an excellent school district, it is close to the I-95 corridor that runs down the East Coast, and it is only a short train journey to Philadelphia. Shopping is good, and the neighborhood is quiet and safe for children. Our needs are different now that the children have grown up, so it is time for another family with young kids to enjoy our home as much as we have.

    Hey Simon,

The house looks absolutely amazing. I remember seeing a few pictures of the inside on your photo gallery. I plan on moving soon due to similar reasons (if I get my new job that is). All you're missing is a white picket fence and you can call it a day. Seriously though, you all did a fantastic job with the house, kudos.

What area are you looking to move to?

A beautiful family home that is presented to an equally high standard inside as it is outside. I know this for a fact because I was there for a visit over Christmas. The décor throughout is tasteful and it has a new kitchen/family room to die for. Just step out of the back door to the new deck which is wrapped around the back of the house and ideal for family barbeques, just relaxing over the weekend or after a hard days work. There was more than enough room for our dinner for ten, served in the elegant dinning room last Christmas. The living room is a haven offering views to the front and back of the landscape gardens, with the extra bonus of access to the side porch and deck. I’m sure that Simon and Deborah will be sad to leave such a lovely family home but they have worked hard to do the house and grounds justice for the next lucky family. It will indeed be a fortunate family who will be able to take advantage of what this superb home and the neighbourhood of Swarthmore has to offer. I know it will be a wrench for Simon and Deborah to leave but they are ready to face the next faze of their lives, leaving behind some warm and happy memories of the ideal family home. Good luck to you both and here’s hoping you find a new home that will be ideal for your new circumstances.

My wife works in Malvern, so we will be looking to move nearby. We have considered Downingtown because it is only about 15 minutes away from her office.

You can still get a good deal in Downingtown. My friend lives in Thorndale and has a great house on 2 acres that he got very reasonably priced.

The further away you can move from King of Prussia, the better of a deal you will get.

I totally agree with you about keeping our distance from King of Prussia. We have considered going out as far as Coatesville, although Coatesville itself is a little too scummy for my taste.

House is really beautiful, I looked at few of the pictures of your house amazing, shows that you have really worked hard for its furnishing.

Well me and my wife are shifting to Downingtown. Looking for something like this only. We are ready to pay good price too, so if you are interested in selling the house please let me know.

I know its quite difficult to sell the house as many of your cherished memories must be attached to it. But still if you are interested let me know.
