I had a relatively peaceful holiday break. I spent most of it working on a new version of the si-blog, but it is still a long way off from being ready. I apologize for not making any posts over the last 3 weeks - I just haven't had the motivation. I have found that when the World Wide Web is both a place of work and a hobby, you sometimes need a complete break from it. That is the main reason why I have been absent for so long.
I have been following the various interesting stories and threads, though. From Tim's Knighthood to Dave's standards tease, and from networks of friends to Jeffrey's redesign (which I personally dislike), I have forgotten none of my regular reads.
My hopes for a "spectacular relaunch" faded around the time I woke up on New Year's Day with an awful hangover. That set the scene for the following few days, which consisted of moaning, groaning, and laying around like a dead carcass. Now that my energy has returned, I can turn my attention back to this blog. Unfortunately, I go back to school on Monday, so the relaunch is likely to be delayed even further.
