Turmoil in the Romulan Star Empire

Fans (or should it be disciples?) of Star Trek™ will no doubt be overjoyed at the release of the full trailer for Star Trek: Nemesis, which is scheduled for a December (2002) release in the United States. The trailer suggests the film will be very dark, perhaps even chilling, although the PG-13 rating guarantees it won't be too scary. Spectacular special effects are revealed in the trailer, including a sequence involving the destruction of the Enterprise herself. This is billed as the final movie to feature the crew from Star Trek: The Next Generation, so I do not know where the movie franchise will go from here.

This autumn/winter looks set to be a fabulous period for action and science fiction fans, with Solaris, I Spy, Die Another Day, The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers, The Core and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I am sure some of these movies won't be very good, but that is okay - I am interested in being entertained, that does not always mean it needs to be a perfectly crafted movie with a perfect script. Talking of scripts, one reason that Star Trek: Nemesis might turn out to be a good movie is the fact that it was penned by John Logan, who was responsible for the superb Ridley Scott epic, Gladiator.
