Wordy Word

I frequent my web host's message board. A lively discussion took place on it today, concerning a member's use of Microsoft Word 2000 to create web pages. There were 537 lines of code on the author's home page. I spent 10 minutes knocking up a valid version that used a bit of CSS and posted it. It had 41 lines of code. I am not going to post any links to it here, because it would be unfair on the owner. The debate raged for quite a while, with various people making uncomplimentary statements about the code that Word generates. Someone suggested that by promoting the use of validated, accessible code, I had become something of a standards "fan boy". I think I prefer the term evangelist, but I fear my knowledge of web standards is not significant enough to warrant it just yet.
