Lasagne (low carb)

  • 1 pound of 90/10 ground beef
  • 1 pound of sliced roasted turkey
  • 1 jar of pasta sauce
  • 1 pound of grated cheese
  • Any seasonings you may like

Preheat the oven to 400°F. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef on a medium heat. Add the jar of pasta sauce (we prefer this Wegmans Sauce and stir in to the beef. At this point, you may wish to add additional seasoning. We like to add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper and a little Herbs de Provence. After about 5 minutes of stirring, remove from the heat.

Put a thin layer of the mixture on the bottom of a large casserole dish. Add a layer of the sliced roasted turkey (chicken also works). Sprinkle about a quarter of the grated cheese (we prefer a mix of mozzarella and medium cheddar). Add a more generous layer of the meat mixture, then another layer of turkey, then the cheese. Repeat the three layers again. Layer on the rest of the meat sauce and top with rest of the grated cheese.

Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Serves 4-6 people.
