- 1 cup of butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1½ cups of sugar
- 1 large can (20oz) of pineapple chunks in heavy syrup
- ¼ cup of heavy cream
- 4 cups of unseasoned soft bread cubes (or 10-12 slices of bread, cubed after removing the crusts)
Cream the butter and the sugar. Add the eggs and beat well. Stir in (by hand) the pineapple and the cream. Fold in the bread cubes. Pour into a casserole dish and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 45-60 minutes.
Note: you must use pineapple chunks in heavy syrup. Chunks in natural juice will not work!
